This was the last song recorded specifically for this album. There are other songs written and recorded around the same time, but since most of them don't fit the theme of this album, I'm saving them for a future EP.
Anyway, this was the most ambitious song I've made so far. I wanted to make something that was musically in the vein of Voivod, a band I've been a fan of for over a decade. Voivod incorporates a lot of time changes and dissonant guitar in their music, so it was pretty intimidating at first to attempt to pull that off.
Also like Voivod, I wanted the lyrics to be about technology, specifically Deep Fake technology. GAN algorithm and WaveNet are only just two things involved in making a fake "human", and China has already introduced an A.I. news anchor. I wish the stuff I was writing about was science-fiction, but it's unfortunately not.
My friend Drake (who has given advice on production for both this and "Art Rock Asteroids") helped out with the acoustic interlude in the middle.
